By hermetic encapsulation, the cells and the carrier plate are well protected from aggressive saline water. The sizes of solar panels are optimized to an absolute minimum. The distances between the cells and the edges of the plate are important due to insulation.

Note that the power of solar cells depends directly on the intensity of the light - not the heat - and has seasonally strong fluctuations. For optimum performance, the module must be directed as far as possible perpendicular to the sun.
